Kakinada, Mar 27th: For the second phase of elections that are scheduled to be organized in the district on April 23, the nomination process is going to began today. In Total, 18 Assembly and 3 parliament constituencies go to the polls on the day. The notification for the same will be issued on Saturday and the contesting candidates can go ahead with the nomination from the same day. The election authorities have made all the arrangements to carry out the nomination process in a smooth manner.
According to the notification, the candidates who are contesting for Rajahmundry Loksabha seat need to file their nomination at the local sub collector office, candidates contesting for Kakinada Parliament seat should file their nomination at Kakinada collector office and the candidates contesting for Amalapuram seat should file their nomination from their local RDO office. The candidates contesting for Assembly segments should file their nominations from their concerned Thasildhar offices.
The collector and district election officer, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi said that all the arrangements were done by the authorities to avoid unnecessary disturbances during the process and directed the concerned returning officers to keep the material needed for filing the nominations ready. He said that only 5 persons including the nominee will be allowed while filing the nomination. The last date for filing the nomination is April 6. Candidates who whishes to withdraw from the polls can do the same on April 8.
